The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) prepares candidates for the PADI Instructor Examination (IE) and professional-level teaching. The program includes knowledge development, confined water teaching, and open water teaching, supported by coaching and evaluations throughout.
Minimum Duration
- Minimum IDC duration: 6 days (with independent study / eLearning support)
- When the full curriculum is delivered as live presentations: minimum 8 days
Candidate-to-Staff Ratio & Role-Play

- Role-play requirement: minimum 4 participants during teaching practice (at least 2 acting as students)
PADI IDC Prerequisites
